REGISTRATION AND REFUND POLICY

Entry fees are not refundable under any circumstance. By registering for this event, you acknowledge acceptance of this policy.

Entry fees collected are used to develop and produce our events, starting well before the race date. These include insurance, course preparation, race supplies, permits, staffing, and event administration. We will make every effort to produce a fair and safe event for all participants. Any decision that impacts the race date or potential cancellation is carefully considered and based on the overall event safety, sustainability, and manageability.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Run Minnesota reserves the right to modify or cancel our races AT ANY TIME - for safety concerns, natural disasters, and other force majeure causes. In such cases, there will be no refunds of race entry fees, and there will be no complimentary race entry to a future race. By registering for the race, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

REGISTRATION INSURANCE

Race Roster offers an enhanced refund protection program that is purchasable for participants during the registration process. This refund protection allows participants to request a refund for their registration if they are unable to attend an event for a specific reason. This is not event cancellation insurance. More information can be found here.

TRANSFERS

Run Minnesota understands that unforeseen circumstances can arise and DOES allow the opportunity to officially transfer bib numbers until August 1. If you become injured or are no longer able to join us for the City of Lakes Half Marathon, you may transfer your entry to another person for a $15.00 transaction fee. The transaction fee is to be paid by the person redeeming the transferred entry. Log in to RunSignUp to initiate a transfer.

As a small nonprofit, we do not have the administrative capacity to handle transfer requests made after August 1. There are no exceptions.

CHARITY PARTNER

Become a Mile in My Shoes FundRacer and get a free registration to the 2024 City of Lakes Half Marathon!

Run Minnesota and the City of Lakes Half Marathon are excited to announce our official charity partner, Mile in My Shoes! For the sixth year, we will be partnering with this Twin Cities-based nonprofit that brings the transformative power of running to people experiencing homelessness and incarceration. Based at shelters, addiction treatment centers and re-entry programs for people exiting incarceration, Mile in My Shoes (MiMS) teams are made up of shelter residents as well as local community “Run Mentors”. Running together 2-3 times a week leads not only to dramatic improvements in physical & mental health, but to unique friendships that transform every runner involved. And now, YOU have an opportunity to get involved!

Over the past five years, dozens of Mile in My Shoes Resident Members completed the City of Lakes Half Marathon, and our FundRacing team raised over $70,000 to support this amazing program!

What is a FundRacer? FundRacers tap into their circles to share about MiMS’ mission and raise critical funds for the program while training for a City of Lakes. Because MiMS is a 501(c)3 organization that relies solely on donations, every FundRacer plays a critical role in allowing MiMS to bring running to more people experiencing homelessness and other barriers. By raising $500 for Mile in My Shoes, you not only get a FREE entry into this year’s City of Lakes Half, but you score tons of goodies - including a 20% discount at Mill City Running and our exclusive MiMS supersoft hoodie - along the way!

After 16 years [incarcerated], I came out feeling like I had a scarlet letter on my chest. I honestly didn’t believe there were good people in the world. Mile in My Shoes changed all that. After 2 or 3 weeks of runs - and these weird hugs - the wall I’d built around myself had come down. My mom said, ‘Wow, I got my son back.
